Millions at Arbaeen Send a Defiant Message Against the Oppressors of Today

The Women’s Seminary Management Center has issued a statement praising the historic presence of millions of pilgrims at this year’s Arbaeen procession, describing the gathering as not only an act of worship but also a powerful cry against modern-day oppressors.

Hawzah News Agency- Citing the ongoing atrocities against the people of Gaza, the statement compared their plight to the struggles faced during the time of Imam Hussein (AS) in Karbala. “This year’s Arbaeen was not merely a religious gathering; it was a crushing outcry against the Yazidis of our time—those who massacre the oppressed people of Gaza with bombs, missiles, hunger, and thirst, trampling every boundary of humanity,” the statement read.

The center highlighted that Arbaeen represents the continuation of the timeless message of Imam Hussein (AS) and Lady Zaynab (SA)—a message of resistance, faith, and standing firm against oppression. “Believing men and women, especially Ashura women and patient mothers, showed that love for Imam Hussein (AS) means loyalty to divine values and steadfastness in the face of tyranny,” it added.

In expressing gratitude, the Women’s Seminary Management Center extended thanks to the millions of pilgrims—particularly women and families—who participated in the pilgrimage with “steps as firm and spirits as resilient as Zaynab’s.” Special recognition was also given to female missionaries and students who, through their presence and teaching along the pilgrimage routes, “spread the message of Hussein (AS) and illuminated the hearts of devotees.”

The statement further thanked the officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran for facilitating the participation of pilgrims, as well as the Iraqi government and people for their unmatched hospitality and demonstration of Islamic brotherhood during the event.

The message concluded with a prayer of peace and divine blessings for all.
